1.Lake Natron

Lake Natron in Tanzania Africa is a deadly lake where animals die and turn into statues. The water in the lake has too high alkaline water of pH 10.5 which makes it so acidic that it burns the skin and eyes of the animals to calcify and preserve as they dry. The alkalinity in the water comes from the sodium carbonate and other minerals that flow from nearby hills. The reason why it has the colour of ed in the lake is due to the high acidic body of the water. Flamingos can survive in this lake due to its particularly tough skin and scales which prevent the legs from burning down so that they can drink the water at the near-boiling point to collect freshwater from geysers at the lake's edge.
